How
to Effectively Place Ads on your web site or blog:

I
know the subject of Ad placement has been beaten to death
by every make money
blog out there but my method for article creation on this
site is to respond to the emails I get every day asking questions
with articles. So here goes my response.
For
this article I will show you how to effectively use per per
click ads, affiliate ads and cost per action ads to make money.
I will use a site I stumbled across in my daily surfing which
has information on stopping
a heart attack. The screen shot above shows the top fold
of the site with the hot ad zones denoted in red. The first
Ad as you can see at the top is 468 x 60 Adsense Ad displaying
targeted ads related to heart attack information. It is the
very first ad a visitor to the site will see. Very effective.
Notice also that the Adsense links have been changed from
the default blue color to green which match's the links on
the site and back ground color. This blends the ads perfectly
in with the content and increases your CTR (click through
ratio ).

The
next ad hides behind an actual link on the site and is what
is referred to as jump or splash page ad. When you click on
the Medications link on the site you get taken to a warning
notice about the dangers of smoking and it's relation to heart
attacks. Just below the warning is an affiliate link to a
product that's promises to get you to quit smoking in 14 days.
Directly below the affiliate ad is a google 468 x 60 banner
with relevant ads about quitting smoking. At the end, it has
a link that says " No, Thanks. take me to the list of
heart medications " if the user declines the Stop Smoking
Offer. This is a stellar example of effectively placing ads
in your site.
Below
that is a affiliate banner ad for a company selling the weight
loss drug Rimonabant. This is very effective also because
most people who suffer from heart conditions are usually overweight.
If they click the ad and buy the drug the site owner makes
money.
Just
before the author starts his article is another ad block from
Adsense 336 x 280 which is above the fold and also displays
relevant ads.
To
the right of the page the author displays a list of pay per
action ads at the extremely popular 125 x 125 size. Theses
are displayed by Copeac
and PepperJam. The site owner makes money if a visitor clicks
the ad and enters their email address or zip code. These type
of ads usually pay anywhere from $2 - $11 per lead, that's
some good money. Notice they are effectively placed along
the 160 x 600 Adsense ads too, utilizing the images to to
draw attention to the text ads. Either the visitor clicks
in this situation is a win win for the site owner.
Also
I wanna talk about another pay per click company called Pog
Ads. They have several standard sizes available but I
mainly use one. There link ads. This has worked out great
for me using it it menus or the bottom of an article in the
related links. Look at the screen shot below can can you tell
which is the ad the or the related article ?

You
can't tell right ? this is very effective I use on my money
making and auto related sites and it works like a charm. Pog
ads also pays pretty decent too on these type of sites about
$0.20 - $0.75 per click. The screen shot below points out
the ads for you:
Also
make sure you add Kontera to your site if you have allot of
text content. They will display relevant in-text ads with
in your content by hyper linking certain keywords to ads and
you get paid per click very nicely too. Kontera is second
greatest money maker on all my sites. You can also email them
to request to increase or decrease the density of the ads.
Notice too on the Heart
Attack website that they changed the color of the Kontera
links to green in keeping with overall theme of the site.
That's it ! I hope this article was helpful to you. If you
